Ingredients

  • 6 slices of pane Toscano (Tuscan bread)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1/4 cup pecorino Romano cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup fontina cheese, grated

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F
  2. Line a sheet tray with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  3. Lay out the slices of pane Toscano on the prepared sheet tray.
  4. Using a brush or a spoon, drizzle or spread olive oil evenly over each slice. Make sure to coat both sides.
  5. Sprinkle a pinch of garlic salt over each oiled bread slice. 
  6. Mix the grated pecorino Romano and fontina cheeses together in a bowl.
  7. Sprinkle a generous layer of the cheese mixture over each bread slice, ensuring even coverage.
  8. Place the sheet tray in the preheated oven and bake for about 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
  9. Broil for 1 minute for an extra crispy and golden top. Keep a close eye on the bread to prevent burning.
  10. Serve while hot and enjoy!
