Onyx Rose Granita

Onyx Rose Granita
This Persian-inspired granita is a triumph of flavors. The base, infused with our luxurious Onyx Rose tea, offers up a delicate and refreshing taste that will send your taste buds into a frenzy with a malty and aromatic punch, rounded out with subtle notes of rose and citrus.

But what's truly remarkable about this slushy-like treat is its simplicity. With only four ingredients—tea, honey, clementine juice, and water—it's an easy and elegant beverage that will impress even the most discerning guests.

Adding a splash of whiskey is the perfect way to turn it into a nightcap, adding a little spice to your evening and ensuring a restful night's sleep. This granita is a game-changer.

Ingredients

For the Granita:

  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • Juice of 1 clementine (Cutie)
  • 1/4 cup Onyx Rose
  • 2 cups water, 185 °

For the Garnish:

  • Zest of 1 clementine
  • 1/2 ounce whiskey or vodka

Directions

For the Granita: In a large glass or container add the honey and clementine juice. Place a tea strainer in the glass and add the Onyx Rose tea. Pour the hot water over the leaves and steep for 3 minutes.

Remove the leaves and stir the mixture until the honey is dissolved and combined.

Pour the mixture into an 8-inch-square baking dish.

Freeze for 2 hours and then mix well using a fork, breaking up the crystals around the edge of the container and stir granita until slushy.

Freeze for an additional 2 hours and mix again.

When ready to serve, scratch up the granita with a fork and serve in small glasses. Freshly grate clementine zest as a garnish.
