Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Jorhat Assam
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • Lemon slices (for garnish, optional)

Directions

  1. Place the loose leaf Jorhat Assam tea into a teapot or heatproof pitcher. Pour 2 cups of boiling water over the tea leaves. Let it steep for 5 minutes.
  2. After steeping, use a fine mesh strainer to pour the tea into a mixing bowl or another pitcher, removing the tea leaves.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar while the tea is still warm, until dissolved.
  4. Add the fresh lemon juice to the sweetened tea and mix until well combined.
  5. Pour the mixture into Solo cups, filling them about 3/4 full.
  6. If desired, float a slice of lemon on top of each cup for garnish.
  7. Insert wooden sticks into the centers of the Solo cups.
  8. Place the cups in the freezer. Freeze for at least 4 hours or until completely solid.
  9. To remove the ice pops from Solo cups, run warm water briefly around the outside of the cup to loosen them.
