Pumpkin Pie Spice Creamsicle Floats

Pumpkin Pie Spice Creamsicle Floats

5 min

Easily customizable for both children and adults, this spooky Halloween drink is our take on a classic: The Creamsicle. Vanilla ice cream and Fanta form the foundation for this drink, but the warm notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice in Pumpkin Pie Spice take it to a whole new level. It's very spice forward, so be sure adjust your sprinkle of spice to get your desired level of flavor. A bit of Heilala Vanilla Paste rounds out the drink for the kids, but it can easily be replaced with a splash of vodka and Baileys for the adult-only party. Awesome jack-o-lantern wine glasses, not included.

Spice Cream

Spice Cream

February 4th is National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. If you're not making your ice cream into SPICE cream, you're definitely missing out. Here are some of our favorite (and unexpected!) flavor combos for you to try at home. With Vanilla: Madras Curry may surprise you as a pairing for ice cream (it surprised us too!) but once you taste it, it's impossible to deny. The bright pop of ginger and warm hint of cinnamon make it an ideal topping for vanilla. The two flavors combined will leave you with a slight hint of citrus on your tongue. Hojicha is a roasted green tea finely milled that brings a smooth, earthy, and nutty flavor to your bowl of vanilla. It's the perfect way to start the day! Cinnamon Toast Spice is such an obvious winner on vanilla ice cream, you're probably wondering why you hadn't thought of it yourself! The warm flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar pair well with your ice cream while evoking all the flavors of your favorite breakfast. With Chocolate: Kashmiri Garam Masala is deep and dark roasted with warm spices like cinnamon. Cloves make this blend intensely flavorful. Mouth wateringly aromatic, our Garam Masala brings out the best in chocolate. Alderwood Smoked Salt has an incredible amount of flavor in a single ingredient! Salty with a hint of campfire, this topping balances the richness in the chocolate. Urfa Biber is truly a unicorn of a chile. Naturally earthy with hints of tobacco, it will give you a mellow kick of heat that instantly gets cooled by the ice cream.

Lavender and Vodka Ice Cream

Lavender & Vodka Ice Cream

15 min

Homemade ice-cream is worth the effort, and a splash of vodka is hardly noticeable but makes all the difference in the consistency. Alcohol does not freeze, which prevents the consistency of the spun ice cream from freezing rock hard after being frozen. Perfect any time of the year, the flavor will have you making this recipe again and again.

Heilala Vanilla Vegan Ice Cream

Heilala Vanilla Vegan Ice Cream

20 min

Here's a simple vegan ice cream that is velvety smooth and creamy, even without the dairy. It is a spectacular flavor canvas and you can take it in any direction, but we went classic with straight-up vanilla. Helped generously by our friends at Heilala, we were able to get the sublime flavor of fresh whole vanilla beans just by adding a spoonful of vanilla paste from the jar. This ice cream gets it's creamy texture from a stellar lineup of coconut, cashew and oats, and it's made light and airy with a spin in the ice cream maker. Opt for refined coconut oil to keep the vanilla flavor shining through. Aside from melting the coconut oil, this staple summer recipe doesn't even require a stovetop. Just measure everything into the blender and give it a whirl! Just imagine all the flavors you can make...chocolate, cinnamon, lavender, turmeric, and more.

Galaxy Pops

Galaxy Pops

While ice pops are a classic, summertime staple; these are simply out of this world. They naturally get their starry night color from Butterfly Pea Flowers. This recipe was inspired by our Butterfly Pea Flower Horchata. Horchata is a Mexican rice milk beverage that is traditionally flavored with cinnamon. We made these pops a little richer using sweetened condensed milk to add creaminess. Additionally, we took some of the rice pudding base and pureed butterfly pea flowers that have a slight green tea flavor. A galaxy-like effect was created by pouring the creamy white horchata mix on top of the beautiful, deep blue, butterfly base. These pops easily freeze in Dixie cups as a mold. For the green Martian pops, we used some basil and lime juice. Treat yourself to one of each! They're sure to be the star of your hot summer day.To make this a completely vegan/dairy-free recipe, substitute cream of coconut for the sweetened condensed milk in the horchata mix.

Mayan Cocoa Frozen Custard

Mayan Cocoa Frozen Custard

Frozen custard is luscious, silky, and decadent. When it melts, its creamy richness cools you off as you enjoy the explosion of chocolate flavor. In this recipe, we used our Mayan Cocoa which not only makes a tasty drinking chocolate but also a seasoned custard with warm spices like true cinnamon, allspice and ancho chile flake for a kick. To transport us to a chocoholic's paradise, we melted dark chocolate and swirled cherries into the custard to give brightness. Making ice cream is an experience, and this one will make you guilty of constantly taste testing. Give this base a quick spin in an ice cream machine and enjoy it with a sprinkle of toasted White Sesame Seed.

Raspberry Pearl Sherbet and Cava Float

Raspberry Pearl Sherbet and Cava Float

Jasmine Pearl tea is hand-picked and rolled green tea leaves. After harvest, the tea is laid out and covered with jasmine blossoms before being rolled. The resulting brew releases the light, heady scent of jasmine into your cup. Here we have combined the tea with tart raspberries and honey to compliment the floral aspects in Jasmine Pearl and created an elegant sherbet. With just a splash of vodka to preserve the flavor and consistency and after a quick spin in the ice-cream machine, voila! The flavors are sensational. While incredible on its own, this sherbet shines when added to a flute of brut cava or champagne. Garnish with a few fresh raspberries and you have the perfect drink to kick off patio season.

Chinese Five Spice Fudge Pops

Chinese Five Spice Fudge Pops

Make these fun and flavorful fudge-pops for any occasion, they are a festive treat! Chinese Five Spice is sweet with fennel and star anise and sassy with cloves and Sichuan pepper. Cinnamon is the fifth ingredient and when you bring it all together with dark chocolate it's a match made in heaven. The base comes together easily on the stovetop and we used small paper cups for the molds. You can decorate with toasted sesame seeds and gold luster dust like we did, but there are so many options! Try chopped peanuts, sprinkles or toasted coconut. Tiny but mighty in flavor, these creamy pops will satisfy your sweet tooth and are fun to make.

Mulled Wine Poached Pears

Mulled Wine Poached Pears

The striking color of these poached beauties comes from simmering the pears in Merlot with sugar. Letting them soak overnight and bathing them in the reduced sauce afterwards. These pear-fect morsels can be served alongside ice cream, as a dessert all on their own, or as an accessory to cheese plates. For this version of the recipe, we used our Mulling Spice to infuse the poaching liquid. The warm aromatics of cinnamon, ginger, cloves and cardamom are an excellent accompaniment to the Merlot, and will leave your kitchen smelling lovely as an added bonus!
