Spice-Rolled Goat Cheese

Spice-Rolled Goat Cheese

Happy National Cheese Ball Day! This time-honored appetizer is a classic worthy of celebration so we've added a range of flavors to goat cheese with three of our favorite spice blends - Dukkah, Green Za'atar and Syrian Za'atar. Bold and spice forward, these cheese balls are easy to make and each one offers a different flavor. All pair well with goat cheese so pick your favorite or enjoy them all! Hazelnuts and toasted sesame add texture to our Egyptian Dukkah along with cumin, marjoram and thyme. Both of our za'atar blends have toasted sesame as well, but different spices. Green Za'atar is more herb forward with dill, thyme and hints of sumac. The Syrian Za'atar. has a larger measure of sumac along with coriander, cumin and hints of anise. Finish up this plate with crudité and this board will have a taste for every palate.

Piment D'Espelette Gazpacho

Piment D'Espelette Gazpacho

15 min

This vegan and gluten-free soup is everything you didn't know you needed this summer. Refreshing and meant to be served cold, the gazpacho relies heavily on a seasonal favorite: tomatoes. Our gazpacho also features Piment D'Espelette to give the dish a mild, fruity heat that gives the soup a kick, but in a subtle way.  We've prepared two versions of the gazpacho: The first features Chimichurri Spiced Olive Oil to add brightness to the dish. Chimichurri sauce is so good, you may find you want to drink it, and with this soup, you kinda can.  The second is an aromatic delight using our Syrian Za'atar Spiced Olive Oil. The sesame seeds add crunch and all of the toasted spices make the bowl of gazpacho a truly unique dish. So which will you choose? If it were up to us, we'd make them both.

The aromatic blend of Za'atar spices in the olive oil creates a savory and tangy dip that will elevate your bread-snacking experience. Salad Dressing: Drizzle Za'atar Spiced Olive Oil over salads to infuse them with a unique herbal and citrusy flavor. It works well with greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, and feta cheese. Roasted Vegetables: Toss roasted vegetables, like carrots, potatoes, or cauliflower, in the Za'atar Spiced Olive Oil before baking. The spices will enhance the natural sweetness of the veggies and add a delicious Mediterranean flair. Grilled Meats: Brush Za'atar Spiced Olive Oil onto grilled meats, such as chicken, lamb, or beef, during or after cooking. The aromatic blend of spices will impart a wonderful taste and aroma to the meat. Marinades: Use the spiced olive oil as a base for marinating meats, tofu, or vegetables before grilling or baking. It will infuse the ingredients with a mouthwatering flavor profile. Hummus Enhancement: Drizzle Za'atar Spiced Olive Oil over hummus to enhance its taste and presentation. The herbaceous notes in the oil complement the chickpea and tahini flavors wonderfully. Pasta: Toss cooked pasta in Za'atar Spiced Olive Oil for a simple yet flavorful pasta dish. You can add some grated cheese, cherry tomatoes, or fresh herbs for extra appeal. Pizza: Use it as a finishing touch on homemade or store-bought pizzas. Brush the crust with the spiced oil before or after baking for an extra burst of flavor. Grain Bowls: Add a drizzle of Za'atar Spiced Olive Oil to grain bowls, such as quinoa, couscous, or rice dishes. It will instantly transform a simple bowl into a tantalizing and aromatic meal. Bagels require lots of processes. Kneading, boiling and baking, all for the holy grail of the perfect crust and chew. Our friend Dawn took on the challenge and made dozens of batches to dial it in just right. The results are a beautiful brown blush on perfect crust with a satisfying chew--and it's not hard! This recipe makes a dozen and I guarantee you they'll be gone before they cool.

Spiced Monkey Bread

Spiced Monkey Bread

1 hr

Monkey bread is most often sweet, and served with a drizzle of syrupy glaze. Here we decided to give it a twist and make monkey bread that is salty, crunchy and savory.  The soft, chewy rolls of dough are piled high and baked in a Bundt pan. To eat them you pick the pieces apart like a monkey! It's fun to eat and a festive addition to a potluck or holiday table. Serve the monkey bread with a sauce like sour cream, butter, marinara or olive oil. A small ramekin perfectly fits in the middle.

Cedar Plank Za'atar Salmon

Cedar Plank Za'atar Salmon

Who doesn't love a recipe with only a few ingredients but a TON of flavor? This salmon is bold, smoky, flaky, and delicious. Enjoy it hot and fresh off of the plank or the next day in a tasty salad. We liberally sprinkled some Syrian Za'atar on a couple of sides of sockeye salmon. Then we hot smoked them for 30 minutes, finishing the fillets with fresh lemon. What makes this salmon extra special is the flavors in our Syrian Za'atar. Citrusy sumac harmonizes with the toasted sesame seeds, coriander, and cumin. The fattiness of salmon is perfect with these nutty and warm flavors. We've had dill on salmon plenty of times, now's the time to fall in love with some za'atar smoked salmon!Check out our Sumac Cauliflower Steak with El Greco Spelt Salad for an amazing pairing for your leftover Za'atar Smoked Salmon.

Crowd Pleasing Party Dips

Crowd Pleasing Party Dips

Perfect for snacking or for parties, spiced yogurt dips are easy to make and keep well in the fridge for up to a week. One container of plain Greek yogurt or sour cream and 2-3 tablespoons of spice are all you need. Our seasoning blends offer a fresh flavor profile you won't find in the average packet. Our favorite is the Cascade Mushroom Mix because it has a strong dose of onion and garlic along with some powdered Worcestershire for a deep umami flavor.

Classic Hummus

Classic Hummus

Hummus is one of those things best made fresh from scratch, and neither grocery store nor restaurant versions can compare. Served with crunchy veggies, olives, feta and warmed pita bread, hummus is always a crowd pleaser! Our hummus always comes to the table with a hearty sprinkle of spice right on top. Our taste-testers couldn't agree on just one, so we recommend El Greco, Dukkah - Hazelnut, Green Za'atar, Syrian Za'atar or Sumac.
