Rose Simple Syrup

Rose Simple Syrup

Roses and their petals have been used around the world for centuries to subtly add fragrance and sweetness to dessert and beverages. This recipe is 3 ingredients and it can be used a dozen ways.

It's a great tool to have on hand if you have company for a fun floral drink. You don't need a special occasion to indulge in this delicate flavor 💗.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups water
  • 1-1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup Roses (1 ounce)

Directions

Add the sugar and water to a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the rose petals.

Steep the petals for 15 minutes and strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer. The roses absorb a lot of the liquid, squeeze out the  flavor

Let cool, then pour into a glass jar and seal tightly with a lid.

This syrup will keep refrigerated for about one month. Use it to sweeten coffee, tea, lemonade, cocktails or brush on a lemon pound cake.
