Italian Herbs Sub

These sandwiches are the BEST if you're hosting for game day🏈. They can be made ahead of time or built to order for everyone's preference. This year we were inspired by East Coast flavors and our Italian Herbs seasoning is perfect for a sub.

It's salt-free and has a melody of garden herbs like basil, oregano and marjoram that add brightness to every bite of this sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 1 (12-inch) white sandwich bread, cut in half horizontally (A hoagie roll would be the best)
  • 2 teaspoons deli mustard 
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 4 thin tomato slices
  • 1/4 cup red onion thinly sliced
  • 2 ounces provolone cheese thinly sliced
  • 2 ounces sliced deli ham
  • 2  ounces sliced deli salami
  • 2 ounces sliced deli bologna or mortadella 
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar 
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Herbs seasoning


Optional:  sliced pepperoncini

Directions

Evenly drizzle mustard on top half of bread and layer lettuce, tomatoes, onion and provolone.  On the bottom slice, layer ham, salami, bologna and evenly drizzle olive oil, red wine vinegar and shake Italian seasoning all over.

Add the top of bread to the sandwich. The sandwich can be stored in the refrigerator up to 4 hours before enjoying. Serve cold.

Also delicious in the oil vinaigrette for these subs, be sure to try either Garlic Salt, Italian Sausage Mix, Smokin' Hot Garlic PepperHabanero Garlic Pepper, or El Greco.
