History

Cardamom, known botanically as *Elettaria cardamomum*, Originates from the wild jungles of Southern India. Cardamom has been a prized spice in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia for thousands of years. In medieval times, the Vikings brought cardamom back to Scandinavia from their travels to Constantinople, embedding it deeply into their cuisine.
