Gingerbread Donuts

Gingerbread Donuts

These cute mini donuts use our Gingerbread Spice to bring holiday flavors to the breakfast table. We couldn't decide between two different garnishes in our recipe testing, so we included them both. Dunk them in the sticky maple gingerbread glaze or roll them in gingerbread sugar, according to preference. Can't decide? We'd advise you to split the difference and make some of each, like we did!For those who might be discouraged from trying doughnut recipes due to the frying involved, we are relieved to say that these were baked. After much experimenting, we decided the yeast donuts were best, and everything else came easy. Easy enough to, say, make a double batch and garnish your eggnog or hot cider for an extra special treat.

Warm Pumpkin Butter

Warm Pumpkin Butter

After finding a lovely pumpkin for Halloween decor, wonder no more about what to do with it. This homemade recipe ensures your pumpkin won't go to waste. It yields a lot, but the pumpkin butter can be stored in the fridge for weeks and freezes well. It's perfect for enhancing future pancakes, waffles, and holiday drinks. I used Kashmiri Garam Masala for a sweet, spiced flavor. The spices simmer with piloncillo, similar to brown sugar, intensifying the pumpkin's natural sweetness. This straightforward recipe adds an autumnal twist to everyday treats.

Spice Cream

Spice Cream

February 4th is National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. If you're not making your ice cream into SPICE cream, you're definitely missing out. Here are some of our favorite (and unexpected!) flavor combos for you to try at home. With Vanilla: Madras Curry may surprise you as a pairing for ice cream (it surprised us too!) but once you taste it, it's impossible to deny. The bright pop of ginger and warm hint of cinnamon make it an ideal topping for vanilla. The two flavors combined will leave you with a slight hint of citrus on your tongue. Hojicha is a roasted green tea finely milled that brings a smooth, earthy, and nutty flavor to your bowl of vanilla. It's the perfect way to start the day! Cinnamon Toast Spice is such an obvious winner on vanilla ice cream, you're probably wondering why you hadn't thought of it yourself! The warm flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar pair well with your ice cream while evoking all the flavors of your favorite breakfast. With Chocolate: Kashmiri Garam Masala is deep and dark roasted with warm spices like cinnamon. Cloves make this blend intensely flavorful. Mouth wateringly aromatic, our Garam Masala brings out the best in chocolate. Alderwood Smoked Salt has an incredible amount of flavor in a single ingredient! Salty with a hint of campfire, this topping balances the richness in the chocolate. Urfa Biber is truly a unicorn of a chile. Naturally earthy with hints of tobacco, it will give you a mellow kick of heat that instantly gets cooled by the ice cream.

The chai blend is a toasted combination of warm spices like clove and cinnamon along with coriander and black pepper. They compliment the caramelized pecans and bring everything together with an unbelievable spicy aroma.Filled with a mix of cane syrup, brown sugar, and butter to create the chewy gooey texture we all love. A mix of pecan halves and pieces will create texture differences in every bite, and they combine with the spice to make this pie a winner.

Kashmiri Curry Breakfast Cookies

Kashmiri Curry Breakfast Cookies

Cookies for breakfast? Why not, especially these hearty, healthy and nutritious bars. Packed with coconut oil, chia seeds, quinoa and...white beans. Yes, these contain pureed white beans for that extra boost of protein to get your morning started off right. These cookies are easily customizable - you can vary the dried fruit and nuts, as well as using pureed pumpkin or sweet potatoes instead of applesauce. To give it a little extra added flavor, there is Kashmiri Curry, which has cinnamon notes, but is still a bit savory, too. This recipe can be scooped to make cookies or patted into a pan, then cut into pieces. These also work well for an afternoon snack, and are great to take out on hiking trips. Kashmiri Garam Masala Papaya Smoothie

Kashmiri Garam Masala Papaya Smoothie

On the way to our storefront behind the Pike Place Market, we're fortunate to be greeted each day by a rainbow of fruits and vegetables. Papaya is a fruit normally enjoyed on a tropical vacation, but the ones at Frank's Quality Produce looked absolutely perfect. Since nothing says summer like a tropical smoothie, we decided to give pick some up and try it out.Papaya is buttery and sweet, with a flavor akin to cantaloupe. To add a spicy twist, we turned to Kashmiri Garam Masala, a delicious and fragrant spice blend containing cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper, cloves, and mace. A touch of Turmeric balances the sweetness, while frozen banana and chia seeds round the flavor. Bursting with tropical sweetness, this smoothie will have have you feeling just a little bit closer to paradise.
