How to use Chimichurri Spice

Blend 2 tablespoons Chimichurri Spice, 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar, 2 teaspoons Pacific Flake Sea Salt, 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, and 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil. Use as a marinade, serve with bread, salad, or veggies, or drizzle on your favorite dishes!

Spice 101

This blend is crafted from Aji Mirasol, Guajillo, NM Chile, Cumin, Turkish Oregano, and Bay Leaf. It's a salt-free concoction that brings a gentle heat and a delicious complexity of flavor to your dishes. This spice blend is perfect for creating tangy, garlicky, and herbaceous Argentinean Chimichurri sauce.

Chimichurri, the inspiration behind our Chimichurri Spice, is a cornerstone of Argentinean cuisine. Traditionally, it's a sauce made fresh and used to complement grilled meats. Its roots are as vibrant as its flavors, with a folklore tale that it was concocted by an Irishman named Jimmy McCurry who was fighting for Argentine independence. However, the name likely evolved from 'Jimmy's curry' to 'chimichurri' due to linguistic interpretation. Across different cultures, similar green sauces can be found, but none hold the unique blend of spices and heat that chimichurri offers, making it distinctively Argentinean.

Chimichurri Spice is a perfectly balanced blend that’s our go-to shortcut for making authentic Argentinian chimichurri. Just mix it with fresh ingredients like olive oil, vinegar, and parsley to create a vibrant, tangy, and herbaceous sauce in no time.

Although chimichurri is most famously paired with grilled beef, particularly in Argentina and Uruguay, it’s also commonly used with other meats like chicken, fish, and even as a marinade or salad dressing.
