Mulled Cranberry Mimosa

Mulled Cranberry Mimosa

Here are a few of our favorite things, crisp bubbly champagne, fresh cranberry juice cocktail, and mulling spices. In this Mulled Cranberry Mimosa you can have them all! After taking a sip of this brunch favorite, we realized that the inspiration came from another classic cocktail, a Cosmo, and this holiday twist on a classic is festive garnished with lime and fresh cranberries that bob in the bubbly. This recipe makes a whole quart of the mulled cranberry base, enough to host a party or to keep in the fridge for the season!

Mulled Honey Glögg

Mulled Honey Glögg

Glögg. The name alone makes you feel cozy. From start to finish, this Nordic drink is a delight. It is fun to make, aromatic and nutty and the warm cuppa is simply delicious. Our version breaks the traditional mold with white wine and honey for a lighter beverage, but it still contains all the spices, nuts and fruit that signal Glögg is in the house! After a quick simmer of lightly toasted slivered almonds and Mulling Spice in crisp white wine, the Glögg is tiered with flavors from elderflower liqueur, brandy and cranberries, turning the floral golden liquid into a beautiful blush pink. We recommend making ahead so that the it can sit overnight, as the flavors will meld together and become one. It's another perfect batch cocktail for the season, and once it's strained, serve warm and garnish with apples, pears, star anise or a cinnamon stick. Each cup will bring a smile and taste of warm cheer.

Tipsy Daisy

Tipsy Daisy

Imagine yourself in a field of flowers. It's the best day of your life. Surrounded by loved ones, soaking up California sunshine and overwhelmed with joy. What would you like to sip on? While dreaming up my wedding cocktail I wanted to create something bright, Spring forward and crowd pleasing to celebrate the day. Using Floral Sonnets as the foundation was an easy start, especially since I happen to be getting married in a field of flowers! This herbal tea blend has been a long time favorite. It's sweet from chamomile, and warm from a melody of spices like ginger, cinnamon and Honeybush tea. Taking advantage of my California locale, I added muddled sweet strawberries and Meyer lemon juice to make it shine. The cocktail gets its boozy name because of its chamomile base. Did you know that chamomile was in the daisy family? In the spirit of making a drink that everyone could enjoy, a batch of the simple syrup was left on the side to mix up any drinks for guest that preferred a dry cocktail. The syrup is easy to batch - just add a splash of seltzer before serving. The only thing missing from our special day was our little muppet, Stoli. She doesn't like to fly. So although I'm a gin girl I strategically chose Stoli vodka as a nod to our pup, making it more personal and smooth to drink.

Mulled Milk Punch

Mulled Milk Punch

Recipes for clarified milk punch have been around since the 1600's and making it is well worth the multi-step process. Any recipe that's been around for nearly half a millennium has to have something going for it, right? After the slow finale of straining your punch, the result is a crystal clear elixir that is smooth and fragrant. With each sip the flavor evolves, but with no expected "punch." It is smooth and velvety on the palate. A clear blue ribbon winner, this recipe showcases our smoky Northwest Tea Time and Mulling Spice to elevate this classic punch into a holiday favorite. You begin by making a sweet tea in one vessel, combining the alcohols in a second one, and infusing Mulling Spice into boiled milk in a third. Midway through the process, you combine them all to curdle the milks and kick-start the alchemy that makes it all happen. You may question whether you're doing it right because it doesn't look very appetizing during this step, but the answer is yes! The milk solids act as a sponge and purify the mixture and also round out the flavors. Straining is the final step and sipping it is the reward. Add a chunky ribbon of your favorite citrus peel for garnish and enjoy.

So make yourself a pitcher of this Caribbean favorite, kick back in a beach chair, and enjoy! For a layer of aromatic bliss, shave some nutmeg on top before taking a sip. Nothing compares to freshly grated Nutmeg - the warmth compliments the rum and coconut. Moroccan Watermelon Cooler

Moroccan Watermelon Cooler

Temperatures are skyrocketing this summer. The Northwestern heatwave has us all trying to beat the heat in every way possible. This refreshing, thirst-quenching summer beverage has instantly become our new favorite. Our Moroccan Mint is a combination of peppermint and Gunpowder green tea — and tastes incredible as the base in this cooler. Hydrating watermelon, fresh cucumber, and tart lemon complement the tea perfectly. Add a splash (or two) of vodka and you've got a delicious, rejuvenating drink. Cheers to keeping cool!

Memorable Father's Day Martinis

Memorable Father's Day Martinis

Some of our father figures are known for their no-nonsense attitudes while other times their wit is endless. Either way, we've got a martini for him! For practical, no-nonsense Dad, we polished a classic Gibson martini with savory house-made pickled pearl onions. For sweet & silly Dad, we added fancy to a French martini with vanilla bean-infused vodka. Either way, he'll appreciate the extra touches and the time together to enjoy them. We know a lot of well rounded men who will love both!Infusing your own vodka is an absolute breeze and it is a great way to capture all the flavor from a precious Madagascar 3 Count Vanilla Bean. Once you make it, you'll never go back. We tapped our favorite local spirits for this recipe using Oola Distillery vodka for a smooth, clean finish. The playful froth in this martini comes from the shaken pineapple juice. Enjoy! The Gibson martini is traditional and crisp. We pickled our own pearl onions using our house blend Pickling Spice. We also used Oola's Gin that has been cask aged in old whiskey barrels which gives it a golden hue. Adding a dash of the brine to the martini makes the gin go down even easier and really completes it. At the end, you'll be left with a tasty pickled pearl onion. Now go make your dad a drink and raise a glass!
