Sassy Steak Pepper Jack Burgers

Sassy Steak Pepper Jack Burgers

Get your taste buds ready for a wild ride with Sassy Steak Pepper Jack Burgers! Short ingredient list? Damn right. Sassy Steak Spice brings the heat with Chipotle Flakes, Alderwood Smoked Salt, and a sprinkle of rebellion—Urfa Biber and Vietnamese Cinnamon.

This recipe is designed for indoor skillet cooking, but you can easily adapt it to an outdoor grill if you prefer that cooking method. I specifically like thin patties for making burgers at home. They brown easily and are quick to make!

As the patties sizzle, the pepper jack cheese melts, enveloping each bite. With succulent beef, a juicy steak tomato slice, and a brioche bun, each mouthful becomes an extraordinary journey of taste and delight – all from the comfort of your own kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
  • 4 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Sassy Steak Spice
  • 1 large steak tomato, sliced
  • 4 brioche burger buns

Directions

  1. Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions. Shape each portion into thin patties between parchment paper, about 4 inches in diameter. They should be thin to ensure quick and even cooking.
  2. Sprinkle a generous pinch of Sassy Steak Spice on one side of each patty. Gently press the spice into the meat.
  3. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. No need to add oil – the fat from the beef will prevent sticking.
  4. Once the skillet is hot, add the seasoned patties, spice-side down. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until a crust forms and they're nicely seared.
  5. While the first side is cooking, sprinkle Sassy Steak Spice on the top side of each patty.
  6. After the first side is cooked, flip the patties over.
  7. Immediately after flipping the patties, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on top of each patty.
  8. Let the cheese melt as the second side and cover the pan for 30 seconds so the cheese melts.
  9. While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the brioche burger buns in the skillet or on a separate griddle. This adds a nice crunch to the buns.
  10. Place the cooked patties with melted cheese on the bottom halves of the toasted buns.
  11. Add a slice of steak tomato on top of each patty.
  12. Top the burgers with the other half of the toasted buns to complete your burgers. (Or forget the bun and go gluten free!)
