Enhance your mac & cheese, roast chicken, tomato salad, and shrimp & grits with this all-purpose, Cajun-inspired seasoning. Sprinkle generously for a flavorful kick.
Spice 101
This robust seasoning blend is inspired by the Gulf Coast and features a base of peppercorns and sea salts, elevated by the flavors of onion, garlic, thyme, and allspice. It's a chunky seasoned salt with a wee kick, courtesy of whole brown and yellow mustard seeds that add just the right amount of heat. It’s salt-forward with a smoky undertone, thanks to the smoked sea salt, and a subtle, fruity heat from Aleppo pepper.
The origins of Voodoo as a spice blend are as mystical and enigmatic as the name suggests. Inspired by the magic and spirit of New Orleans, this blend echoes the city’s famous melange of cultural influences, from French to African to Caribbean. Historically, spices like allspice and thyme found their way into the heart of Cajun and Creole cooking, becoming staples in the kitchens of the Gulf Coast. The blend’s name, Voodoo, pays homage to the rich spiritual and mystical practices brought to Louisiana by African and Haitian immigrants, which have permeated the cultural fabric of the region.
We love Voodoo for its versatility and vibrant flavor profile that brings a touch of magic to any dish. It’s our go-to blend for grilling, whether we're charring veggies or spicing up a steak. Its robust flavor also makes it perfect for enhancing simple dishes like scrambled eggs or a humble bowl of soup. The blend's smoky, spicy kick transforms ordinary ingredients into something extraordinary.
Did you know that Voodoo isn’t just a name but a celebration of New Orleans’ storied past? While it’s great on grilled meats and veggies, try using it in a less conventional way: as a rim for a Bloody Mary. It adds a complex, spicy twist that complements the cocktail’s rich tomato base, making your Sunday brunch unexpectedly enchanting.

Got a sample packet and tried it on fresh Maui Venison. Wonderful!
Store owner replied:
That looks delicious, and the flavors in Voodoo would pair really well with venison, too. Voodoo is easily our most popular blend, because it's such a versatile seasoned salt that goes well with pretty much anything savory.
Store owner replied:
It's definitely one of our most popular blends, both to cook with or even just a sprinkle on eggs or veggies.
My husband and I both enjoy this flavorful spice to use on eggs and meat. We re-use jars and keep it filled with this spice so that we have it on hand.
Store owner replied:
It's easily our most popular blend because it is so versatile.
We've loved voodoo since we visited the store in 2019. We've added it to meats, vegetables and our newest test was dumpling broth. The added flower soaked into the dumplings.
Store owner replied:
We love how creative you are with Voodoo! And that dumpling soup looks so good!!
Used Voodoo on our steaks on the Pizza oven. This spice is definitely elevated the cooking game in a great way. Everything is so fresh and it's amazing. I generally don't like spicy things. It's just gives it a good heat, but not too spicy..
Store owner replied:
We love how versatile Voodoo is! It's nice to have that wee kick, but you can still taste everything in the dish because the heat isn't overwhelming.
I have been using Voodoo spice for several years now. This is definitely my number one go to spice! Traveling to Arizona that I decided to throw in my suitcase and we cooked a fit tonight and my friends pizza oven. It made the steaks off the chart amazingly delicious.
Store owner replied:
We're glad it was a hit! It's great on steaks, veggies, seafood, pasta, eggs...we're always trying it on something new!
Voodoo spice has been in our kitchen for years and has it's own container so it's easy to find! We use it on so many different dishes from avocado toast to steaks.
Store owner replied:
That’s the kind of commitment we love to see! Voodoo deserves its own spot in the kitchen—such a go-to for literally everything. Avocado toast to steaks? *Chef’s kiss!* 🔥✨
Voodoo is our family’s favorite GOTO spice for omelettes. Tasty and fragrant
Voodoo spice is very flavorful but not over-powering. I have added it in eggs and to veggies. It is well rounded and flavorful. On the nose it is very peppery but in a good way. You can take a good whiff but not come out sneezing.
Store owner replied:
Yes yes yes. So dang good on ribeye.
Voodoo is my absolute favorite spice to cook with, especially when it comes to anything barbecue🙌 It gives the meat a slight kick, but it’s not spicy. I don’t like things spicy. It just warms it. I am my fan for life of voodoo and I recommended to many people.
Store owner replied:
Thanks for sharing your love for Voodoo spice! 🙌
I’m from Louisiana and tho I don’t still live there I always make Crawfish Etouffee with voodoo in it. I also love the salmon spices! I made a reorder of my favorite spices last month and my voodoo was accidentally left out of the order. Customer Service was excellent and immediately shipped me twice as much voodoo as I ordered! Thank you! Susan
Store owner replied:
Right?! It's great on its own, pairs well with our salt-free blends, and just so versatile. That's why so many people love our Voodoo blend.
Voodoo spice blend is my new, hands-down, favorite! I got a sample packet a few months ago because I was intrigued by the name. I put it on some chicken along with the Adjika blend before going the grill and loved it! I also use it by itself. Now, everyone is curious when I tell them we're having Voodoo chicken. A winner!
Store owner replied:
That's why it's easily our most popular blend! It's great on its own, but also pairs well with our salt-free blends like Adjika. The Voodoo/Adjika combo on chicken, especially grilled chicken, sounds divine!
Store owner replied:
That's why it's our most popular blend! Great as a sprinkle, great to cook with, and just flat out delicious with anything savory.
I started buying and using voodoo about 10 years ago and have found it indispensable in my spice cabinet! It is a go to in so many dishes and always gets rave reviews from guests. Highly recommended!
Store owner replied:
That's one of the main reasons why it's our top selling blend - it's versatile, and makes everything delicious! The bonus is that it pairs well with many of our salt-free blends, too.
Have loved Voodoo spice for years. Makes almost anythong taste better, especially salmon and veggies.
Store owner replied:
That's undoubtedly why it's our most popular blend - great with pretty much anything savory! Having something like that around to make our food taste even better is always a good thing.
Voodoo is my go-to blend that adds interest to anything I cook--avocado toast, scrambled eggs, fish and meat dishes, soups and beans.
Store owner replied:
It's just such a good sprinkle for...well, everything! Voodoo is a really good all-purpose seasoned salt, which is why it's our #1 best seller.
We love this. It's truly the secret spice we use and we don't want to tell others. If there is one blend I would tell World Spice to never stop making, it would be Voodoo.
Store owner replied:
There's a reason why it's our best selling blend! It's so completely different from most other season salts, and makes any dish we use it in just shine. Everyone who tries it absolutely loves it!
I love this spice mix. A must have in our kitchen.
Store owner replied:
You are not the only one, either. Its flavor and versatility are why it's our biggest selling blend. Everyone who loves it is very passionate about how much they love it and use it.
Oh Voodoo how you cast a spell on me. I walk away and try other blends elsewhere and I always come running back. I can't seem to get enough of the bright and pepper hit on the tongue. Robust enough to get a fussy roasted chicken to amazing status or enhance a potato salad to dominate the side dishes. It is versatile and wholly the reason why I should buy twice cause I am always running out.
Store owner replied:
What a beautifully worded love letter to Voodoo! And we get it. We will often try something else, then realize it's just not as good as the spices we already loved.
We made voodoo shrimp skewers, and wow... I ate so much more than I normally would because it was UNBELIEVABLY good! This is a spice blend we'll get again in the future.
Store owner replied:
Those sound delicious! We love how easy Voodoo is to use on, well, everything. There's a reason that it's undoubtedly our most popular blend.
I'm making so much more roasted Butternut squash now that i have this . The little heat compliments the sweetness in the squash perfectly.
Store owner replied:
It's a great seasoned salt for pretty much anything, which is undoubtedly why it's our best selling blend. Also pairs well with our salt-free blends, and is wonderful on eggs.
The best place to tey something new! And the kindest most helpful staff!!
Store owner replied:
Awww, thank you! We all absolutely love turning people on to something new to "play with" - it's so much fun!
Okay, so here’s the plot twist of the century: I do not like spicy food. Like, Thai restaurant asks me the spice level and I confidently say “zero, thank you very much.”
And yet… VOODOO.
Somehow this seasoning sneaks in flavor without the burn. It’s like magic. Food sorcery. Kitchen wizardry.
I put it on chicken, beef, whatever — and suddenly I’m out here cooking like I have my own cooking show. My dinners went from “meh” to “wow, who am I??”
Seriously, Voodoo is my secret weapon. Flavorful, not fiery. Delicious, not dangerous.
Total game changer.
Store owner replied:
This has to have been one of the most fun reviews that I have ever read! We are so glad that Voodoo has sparked creativity in your cooking, too. It really is one of the most popular blends we sell.
Store owner replied:
Voodoo is such a vibe! I don't think I would go anywhere without it. Thanks for sharing.
Ever since I bought my first small package of Voodoo, I have kept finding more and more uses for it. One of my favorites is on grilled fish. It's great in sauteed chicken thighs and mushrooms. A meatless dish where it adds punch is pan-fried potatoes and zucchini slices.
Store owner replied:
Grilled fish, chicken thighs, pan-fried potatoes—Voodoo is clearly working its magic in your kitchen, and I’m here for it. I’m so hooked I keep pouches everywhere: in my car, my lunch bag, my desk at work, even my suitcase. It’s the spice that follows me around because it makes everything better. Love hearing how you’re putting it to work!
Store owner replied:
Diane K., we get it—Voodoo has that kind of power! 🧡✨
A little smoky, a little spicy, and totally crave-worthy. No shame in the spice addiction game!
I used this to make Voodoo Jalapeno Poppers. I followed your recipe exactly the first time. They were tasty but I wanted a bit more kick. I doubled the Paprika and put more than a sprinkle of Voodoo on the poppers. I found that grinding Voodoo in a mortar and pestle prevented burning under the broiler as they did in the first attempt.
I enjoy Voodoo on meat and vegetables. It adds a complex flavor that enhances a food's native flavors. It doesn't take much. Voodoo is bold and I prefer it to be subtle on meats or vegetables. On Jalapenos, though, bold is where it's at! Don't be stingy on those.
Store owner replied:
Robert, this is what playing with spices is all about! Love how you dialed in the heat, adjusted for the broiler, and made those poppers exactly how *you* wanted them. Voodoo really does have that deep, complex magic—it’s all about finding the right balance for each dish. And when it comes to jalapeños? Yeah, bold is the way to go! Keep having fun with it! 🔥✨
This has become a staple in my spice cabinet! Love it!!!
Store owner replied:
Voodoo is there everywhere spice, meaning in my kitchen, my backpack, my lunch box, my car, my camping gear..well you get it. It's great on literally EVERYTHING! Vibes-🦀🐠☘️
Voodoo is my all time favorite! It goes on everything.
Store owner replied:
Zesty is a great word for this tasty blend! It has a kick to it, but more of a zesty one, instead of a spicy chile kick. We're always finding new ways to use it.
Store owner replied:
Thanks, Jane! Voodoo is in my top 5 too—it’s just so versatile and brings the magic to everything. Love that it’s a favorite for you as well! 🌟✨
This is one of my most frequently used spices! I use it in everything from soup broth to egg scrambles to refrigerator pickles.
Store owner replied:
Thanks, Ellen! Voodoo is one of my all-time favorites too—I even keep one in my backpack and lunch box. Love how you’re using it in everything—it really is magic 🌟✨
