Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 Walla Walla or other sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 jalapeno, cut into thin rounds
  • 1 (7 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Emerald City Seasoning
  • 4 hot dogs
  • 4 hot dog buns

Directions

In a medium bowl stir the Emerald City Seasoning into the cream cheese until incorporated and set aside.

Preheat a large skillet on medium-high heat.

Add butter into the heated skillet. Stir in the onions and jalapenos and cook them until lightly caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.

Cut your hot dogs lengthwise, careful not to cut all of the way through. Grill hot dogs until well browned. Lightly grill hot dog buns on both sides.

To assemble cheese dogs, spread warm cream cheese on toasted hot dog bun and add hot dog, cut side facing up.

Top the dog with caramelized onions and jalapenos.
