Jerk Scallop & Mango Ceviche

The fresh flavors are incredible in this Jerk Scallop & Mango Ceviche It is easy to make, and this party-sized batch will be a welcome addition to your next gathering as an appetizer or side dish. Citrus and mango are the perfect complement to the scallops, and our Jerk Seasoning brings Caribbean spicing to the mix. It has allspice, thyme, ginger and a friendly amount of habanero. The sweet mango and creamy avocado meld with the scallops, contrasted with a crunch of onion and bell pepper for the perfect bite. Jerk Turkey with Pineapple Salsa

Jerk Turkey with Pineapple Salsa

Today, we're going big! Every year at Thanksgiving, I ponder why we don't cook turkey at other times of year and vow to do so. And then I don't. Until now. With more time to cook at home, we're finally getting around to all those great recipe inspirations. This one takes turkey in a whole new direction with our Jerk Seasoning, and leaves you with plenty of leftovers. Dry-brining the turkey overnight infuses flavors of ginger, allspice and thyme deep into the meat with just enough heat from the habanero to make it interesting... Spatchcock the turkey for fast, even cooking and enjoy!Serve the turkey with black beans, coconut rice and a big dollop of Jerk Pineapple Salsa! You can make this bright and flavorful salsa with items fresh from the refrigerator or quickly char the pineapple and peppers on a very hot grill first to sear the edges. Be sure not to overcook! Get the pieces on and off the grill in just a couple of minutes to cook the outside but preserve the fresh texture and flavor.

Cuban-Spiced Pork with Mojo Sauce

Cuban-Spiced Pork with Mojo Sauce

This Cuban spiced pork is an easy recipe for the slow cooker as summer slides into fall, when the comfort of a warm roast starts to sound appealing, but you're not quite ready to let go of the bright flavors of citrus and fresh herbs. Our Cuban Spice seasons the meat with cumin, oregano and orange for deep layers of flavor, with lime, orange and mint adding sunny flavors to the sauce. Serve alongside black beans and rice for a hearty meal or a green salad for lighter fare.

White Bean Chicken Chili

White Bean Chicken Chili

Mild and mellow with layers of spice, this go-to chicken chili recipe is sure to please. It's equally delicious whether you're cooking in a Dutch oven in the back country or entertaining friends at home. This version is mild, but packed with flavor from Adobo, Cuban Spice and Mexican Oregano. This is our favorite version, but you can play with different flavor profiles by changing the Cuban Spice to a chili powder like Chipotle, Ancho or New Mexico Chili Powder. Adobo is the perfect spice base for all Latin soups and stews. A simple shortcut to flavor, it includes onion, garlic and cumin.

Ras el Hanout Kaleidoscope Salad

Ras el Hanout Kaleidoscope Salad

This colorful salad is a delicious fall favorite. First off, Ras El Hanout and butternut squash or pumpkin is a match made in heaven. Often containing up to 20 ingredients, the complexity of Ras el Hanout is part of what makes it so versatile. Ours has a mild, savory base with peaks of exotic pepper and swirls of floral ether. Pair that with the dark leafy kale tenderized with vinegar and wilted by the warm squash, top it off with the pop of fresh pomegranate and a little nutty crunch and you have a kaleidoscope of texture, color and flavor. This is a great dish to keep on hand through the season for a healthy lunch, and it will look beautiful on your holiday table.

Brussels Sprouts with Za'atar and Nigella

Brussels Sprouts with Za'atar and Nigella

Brussels sprouts are a leftover food trauma from childhood that I've finally overcome. The limp, stinky-sulfur blobs (sorry, Mom) have been replaced with a crisp, roasted vegetable that is full of flavor and befitting a fall feast. Best of all, these are easy to make and a perfect vehicle for one of my favorite spice blends, Green Za'atar. The combination of herbs, sesame and sumac make this spice blend good enough to eat straight out of the jar, but it is even better on the brussels sprouts. A sprinkle of nigella seeds tops the dish off with an exotic garnish and a hint of nutty onion flavor.

Easy DIY: Spiced Hot Fudge Sauce

Easy DIY: Spiced Hot Fudge Sauce

Want an easy DIY project that you can take from start to finish in under an hour? This is your post. But beware! Once you start gifting this hot fudge sauce you won't be able to stop... my sister has been asking for it every holiday since 2004. Our favorite formulation combines bittersweet chocolate with Kashmiri Garam Masala and uses maple syrup as the sweetener, but you can switch up the spice and sweetener in all kinds of creative combinations. Chinese Five Spice with agave nectar is another one of our favorites. A decadent dose of sweet and spice will make your holiday extra nice. This recipe makes 2 cups, but double up if you want to make more for gifts

Chinese Five Spiced Apple-Carrot Pie

Chinese Five Spiced Apple-Carrot Pie

Tender carrots are surprisingly sweet when baked in a brown sugar syrup, especially when united with perfect Washington apples and plump little raisin gems. The fresh ginger is a classic pairing with the carrot, and is highlighted perfectly by the Star Anise in our Chinese Five Spice. The all-butter crust recipe I've included is a long-time standby of mine, and produces some of the flakiest and best pastry I've ever tasted. It will definitely be making an appearance at my Thanksgiving table this year!
