Huacatay
After years of being asked for Huacatay, we can finally say yes! This unusual herb from the Peruvian Andes is traditionally used in South American cuisine, and we're thrilled to be offering this rare find. Ours is organically grown in California and it can be used as an herb in cooking or made into a beautiful and delicious herbal tea.
Huacatay, pronounced “wah-ka-tay” is also known as Peruvian black mint, mint marigold, wild marigold or Mexican marigold. The flavor and aroma are strong, with intense notes of sweet basil, tarragon and lime. Our first taste of the tea was quite heady! And it brews up a beautiful chartreuse. Supplies are limited on this exotic gem, so grab some today and let us know how your recipes turn out. Each bag contains 22 grams, about a half cup of Huacatay.
