Gingerbread Donuts
These cute mini donuts use our Gingerbread Spice to bring holiday flavors to the breakfast table. We couldn't decide between two different garnishes in our recipe testing, so we included them both. Dunk them in the sticky maple gingerbread glaze or roll them in gingerbread sugar, according to preference. Can't decide? We'd advise you to split the difference and make some of each, like we did!For those who might be discouraged from trying doughnut recipes due to the frying involved, we are relieved to say that these were baked. After much experimenting, we decided the yeast donuts were best, and everything else came easy. Easy enough to, say, make a double batch and garnish your eggnog or hot cider for an extra special treat.

Learn moreMulled Milk Punch
Recipes for clarified milk punch have been around since the 1600's and making it is well worth the multi-step process. Any recipe that's been around for nearly half a millennium has to have something going for it, right? After the slow finale of straining your punch, the result is a crystal clear elixir that is smooth and fragrant. With each sip the flavor evolves, but with no expected "punch." It is smooth and velvety on the palate. A clear blue ribbon winner, this recipe showcases our smoky Northwest Tea Time and Mulling Spice to elevate this classic punch into a holiday favorite. You begin by making a sweet tea in one vessel, combining the alcohols in a second one, and infusing Mulling Spice into boiled milk in a third. Midway through the process, you combine them all to curdle the milks and kick-start the alchemy that makes it all happen. You may question whether you're doing it right because it doesn't look very appetizing during this step, but the answer is yes! The milk solids act as a sponge and purify the mixture and also round out the flavors. Straining is the final step and sipping it is the reward. Add a chunky ribbon of your favorite citrus peel for garnish and enjoy.
Learn moreNaughty Mayan Cocoa
Sweet and slightly spicy, Mayan Cocoa captures the indulgent spirit of the season. This decadent spice blend adds spicy notes like chile, cinnamon, allspice to a base of rich Valrhona cocoa powder for a bold beverage with multiple layers of flavor. To add a boozy kick, we opted to spike our cocoa with hazelnut liqueur and horchata-flavored rum. With a bit of whipped cream on top as a garnish, the cocktail is complete. This luscious concoction is sweet and delightfully bold... and it just might tempt you into seconds.
Learn moreMystic Hot Toddy
Whenever the cold weather rolls in, hot toddies always make an appearance on our seasonal cocktail menu! As a night cap or a happy hour libation, this bracing winter warmer is a perfect drink for a cold winter evening. For a new take on one of our favorites, we tried infusing a toddy with the warm, spicy layers of our Mystic Licorice tea to complement the bold fiery taste of the whiskey.Hot toddies are traditionally sweetened with honey, but this version doesn't need it. Licorice root naturally sweetens the toddy, and brings out the sweeter notes in the cinnamon, ginger, cloves and cardamom. Finish the drink with a squeeze of lemon and your favorite whiskey, and it's a delicious way to warm up your winter.Toddies also make excellent batch cocktails, too!
Learn moreRocky Mountain Pork Loin & Savory Applesauce
Early Fall harvest provides a perfect menu to highlight our Rocky Mountain Rub. Toasted juniper with notes of citrus and pine combine with oregano and savory, black pepper and allspice to give a taste of the mountain high country. Rubbed on pork tenderloin and served on a bed of vinegar-massaged kale and savory applesauce, it makes a hearty meal that is light enough for early fall days. It still hints at summer. The applesauce is a show stopper in its own right, seasoned with brown butter and Poultry Rub. The batch we made for this recipe is pretty big thanks to an abundance of apples in our orchard, and it can be canned to last. If you don't have the volume, just pare it down to make enough for this delightful meal. A quick sauté of crispy leeks with butter and Rocky Mountain Rub is the perfect garnish.
Learn moreWarm Winter Sangria
Spiced wine? Mulled cider? We say "choose both" with this Warm Winter Sangria. Mulled wine alone can be too harsh, and mulled cider too sweet. Put them together with a touch of honey and orange, and the drink comes out just right.Choose a full bodied wine whose shelf-talker boasts of black or red cherry flavors that will complement the mulling spice, but with a price that won't break the bank. Mid-shelf Pinot Noir or Cabernet are good choices, and an unfiltered and unsweetened cider is the perfect complement. We were lucky enough to have one straight out of the press and it made this Warm Winter Sangria all the more flavorful. Don't forget the Mulling Spice!
